We are an insurance professional fraternity founded June 19, 1906 on the banks of the "Mother Pond" at Green Lake, Wisconsin and dedicated to the Cardinal Principles of Character, Charity and Fellowship.

Our International Charity Report for FY July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016, reports that the organization gave a reported $191,960 in cash and $62,300 gifts-in-kind to various charities.  That does not include 2,180 man-hours of volunteer labor and $7,000 in scholarships.  For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, the Florida Pond has contributed $22,753.81 in cash, gifts-in-kind and man-hours to at least eight charibable endevours.

As a cautionary note, we are NOT a marketing network.  Please leave your marketing materials at the office.  Anyone found distributing marketing materials or soliciting business on the banks of the Pond will be banished from the Pond.   Our Ganders didn't join the Blue Goose to be solicited or hassled for business, but rather to come together in a social and friendly relationship, and in the spirit of good cheer, to support our favorite charitable and educational endeavors.

Florida Pond Raises Money and Gifts for Our Charities

At our monthly meeting on October 27th, members of the Florida Pond contributed over $300 in Halloween candy to A Kid's Place.

On Monday, November 7th, the Florida Pond held its Third Annual Blue Goose Open Golf Tournament at Carrollwood Country Club.  We had 80 golfers registered and raised a total of $8855 for The Children's Home and Joshua House.  Additionally, the members of the Florida Pond collected over $500 in school supplies and cold remedies for The Children's Home.

On Saturday, December 10th, MLG Lori Hall, WGQ George Harwood and Golf Chairman David Neuhaus attended the Annual Tree Lighting for The Children's Home and presented them with a check for $10,000.

On Thursday, December 1st, we held our Annual Holiday Social Gathering at Del Frisco's Grille and collected over $1000 worth of gift cards for A Kid's Place.

On January 26th, The Pond met at the DoubleTree and collected approximately $300 in gift cards at various eateries and the movies for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.  Our turnout was low due to the presence of the LEA meetings at the Tampa Marriott Waterside, where thay actually had to evacuate the hotel due to a three alarm fire while we were holding our meeting nearby.

Our Venitial Masquerade Charity Ball was held on Saturday, February 11th at the Hollywood Venue, to benefit A.F.I.R.E. of Pasco County, Humane Society Tampa Bay and Children's Home Network (formerly The Children's Home).  We presented representatives of each charity a check for $1,500.  Here is the complete picture gallery.  With our financial results finalized, we issued additional checks for $870 to each of the three charities.  We also requested Grand Nest to pay an additional $100 in matching funds.

Our meeting on February 23 raised quite a bundle of toiletries for the Domestic Violence Center of Hillsborough (Dept. of Families and Children).

At our march 23rd meeting, we raised approximately $400 worth of Easter Basket stuffing items.  At the request of A Kid's Place, we did not assemble the baskets, as they wished to customize the baskets to fulfill the individual needs of their children.
