Florida's Flamingo Puddle Meeting Summary          May 23, 2013
____________________________________________________________________________

(The Flamingo Puddle now has dual membership of the Dallas, Texas Pond and the Florida Pond.)

Our goslings and guests gathered at the Polo Grill in Lakewood Ranch on Thursday, May 23, 2013 for our first initiation ceremony.   We were honored by the attendance of Ms. Linda Meik, the Grand Keeper of the Golden Goose Egg and our Flamingo Puddle’s Most Loyal Gander who officiated at our initiation ceremony along with Mr. George Harwood, currently the Wielder of the Goose Quill of the Florida Pond in Tampa, FL who assisted.   Mr. Les Wells, a longtime member of the Florida Pond was also in attendance as a representative of the Florida Pond in Tampa.

Twelve worthy goslings were initiated in to the Honorable Order of the Blue Goose with dual membership in the Texas and Florida Ponds.  Their names are as follows:

Jennifer Towle, Bob Wilson, Glenn Knies, David Thompson,  John Williams, Stephanie Horne, John Miano, John D’Alusio, Joe Roche, Judie Provencher, Sara Aguila and Stacy Piazza.

The Flamingo Puddle will continue to serve under the leadership of the Texas Pond whose officers will provide support and guidance as our puddle grows and matures within the structure and formalities of this honored organization.  We will seek guidance and fellowship from our fellow ganders in Tampa as well.  George Harwood has provided us with a website and is helping us post information about our puddle activities.  Thank you, George for your help and support.

Linda Meik inspired us to embrace the principles of the Blue Goose and step up to serve our puddle in the areas of supporting our charity efforts and in the recruitment of new members.  Several ganders immediately responded to her call and volunteered to work in these areas.

We received an update on the status of our adopted charity, F.E.L.T. (Feeding Empty Little Tummies) from Judie Provencher who reported that they recently established fund raising activities and committee leadership for the 2013 / 2014 school year.  Judie is leading one of those committees and will deliver this meeting’s donations to FELT.

Our meeting was adjourned with a renewed spirit of commitment and dedication to Blue Goose.  We will meet again on the 4th Thursday of June (June 27) at the Polo Grill.  Details on the meeting’s agenda will be sent to all when finalized.

Warm regards to our fellow ganders in Sarasota, Tampa, Dallas and Houston.  We are now official!
