FLORIDA'S FLAMINGO PUDDLE MEETING SUMMARY        JUNE 27, 2013
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Our Ganders, Goslings and Guests gathered at the Polo Grill in Lakewood Ranch on Thursday, June 27, 2013 for our monthly gathering.   We were honored by the attendance of George and Donna Harwood and Les Wells of the Florida Pond in Tampa, FL as well as Mr. Cary Greenberg who is a member of the Blue Goose Pond in Michigan.

Mr. William Mathews of Ringler and Associates submitted his application to join our Puddle this month and we had two guests who attended for the first time and are considering membership.

Judie Provencher provided the Ganders with a brochure for the FELT golf tournament to be held on Monday, September 23 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club.  There are many opportunities to provide support to FELT through greens fees, sponsorships, attendance at a luncheon, a silent auction and more.  Judie and Anne LaBaron will spearhead our efforts to support this charity event and we encourage all members of the Flamingo  Puddle and the Tampa Pond make every effort to make this fund raising event a success.  Additional brochures are available through Gander, Judie Provencher.  She can be reached at Judie_Provencher@Corvel.com

In an effort to organize our activities and reach our goals of charity, fellowship and character, our leadership has recommended that we organize ourselves into committees so each of us can focus some of our efforts  into one area of concentration while participating in all our activities in general.  Accordingly, the following committees have been identified and members volunteered to participate in them:

Calling Committee, Charity, Membership, and Special Events:

CALLING:  Call assigned members & prospects to remind them of the meeting time & place.

CHARITY:  Nominate charities, assist with fund raising, maintain contact with charity, and keep charitable giving accounting for Grand Nest.

MEMBERSHIP:  Initiate and lead membership activities to increase Puddle membership.

SPECIAL EVENTS:  Arrange special events for Puddle including joint meetings, family events and holiday parties (as an example).

We can always use additional volunteers, so contact Gail Krinsky at (239) 542-0833 to sign up for one of these committees.

I will send some information to the members of each committee to help them get started.   In order to recognize the work of each committee, we will ask that each committee be prepared to give a brief summary of their activities at each meeting.    Please advise me which committee you would like to work with.  Don’t forget that we will all participate in charity and membership activities year round.  I have attached a document with a brief explanation of what activities will likely be involved in each committee to help you get a feel for what you may be interested in working on.

Lastly, and although it was our intention to take a break from our monthly meetings in the months of July and August, the FELT golf tournament inspired the members of the Puddle to reconsider and to convene a meeting in July after all to focus all our efforts to support that fund raising event.  The location for the July meeting will be a restaurant called Carmel’s.   Details will be forth coming  in the next few weeks.
